When most folks think of wool, they think itchy.
This is not the case with IO BIO merino wool garments. IO BIO uses low-torque yarn, which allows their clothes to be worn next to the skin without causing irritation. High-torque yarn leads to “split ends” which is what causes the irritation. Using low-torque yarn also allows IO BIO clothes to be stretchy, porous, breathable.
I wore a few IO BIO products for a climbing/camping trip to Vedauwoo, Wyoming recently. I climbed and carried heavy packs while wearing the an IO BIO shirt, even slept in it for a few nights.
The first thing about merino wool is that is absorbs about 30% of its weight in water. This kept me cool while hiking in the heat. Merino wool is also anti-microbial and anti-bacterial. This means that my shirt didn’t stink after several days of constant wear (I might’ve smelled bad, but my shirt did not). Merino is also durable is washer/dryer safe.
IO BIO’s clothes are athletically cut, fitting tight but not too tightly to the body.
