Sanuk Crag

Most people I hang out with wear flip flops. They wear them to the beach (of course), running errands, hiking… pretty much everywhere. I even know people that wear them on hikes up Half Dome. Course, it’s worth mentioning that I hang out with climbers, and climbers love flips.

I wear flips about 90% of the time. This means I need ones that will hold up to hiking through talus fields, over steep slabs of rock and stand up to continuous abuse. The new Sanuk Crag (the Chris Sharma signature sandal) does just that.

The Crag features a super-soft, high rebound injected foot bed and neoprene liner. The leather foot strap upper crosses the phalanx of the big toe, securely keeping the foot in place. The molded rubber outsole features Evolv sticky rubber, which is great for crossing slick granite slabs.

Thus, the Crag is the approach ‘shoe’ for climbers, especially in summer when traditional sneakers are just too hot. They’re tough, supportive and have sticky soles.
