Bike to Work Day Wednesday June 25, 2014

If you haven’t dusted off your bike yet this season… well, you’re probably not reading Elevation Outdoors. So, since you’re bike is all ready to go, and you love riding it on the weekends, it’s time to take up the challenge of riding your bike to work. There are lots of excuses, you’ve made them all already – repeatedly.

A bunch of folks who are really passionate about encouraging you to bike to work have set up maps, breakfast stations, events and a whole pile of other resources on the website biketowork2014.org.

If you’re motivated by doing good for others (if not for yourself), there are a number of sponsors of Bike to Work Day providing do-gooder incentives like goodnessknows Snacks donating a dollar to The Bike Depot in Denver for each mile folks ride (on certain registered rides, see website above for more info) on B-Cycles, the bike share program with multiple locations in Denver and Boulder.

Maybe I’m totally wrong. Maybe you already commute to work on your bike. Provide some encouragement below to those on the fence with your story of how you got into it and what excuses you had to overcome to get going.

Ride on!
