Oskar Blues’ new restuarant combines beer, bicycles, tequila and street art — and lest you’re over-hip, it’s inconspicuously located in a strip mall in Longmont.
The CyclHOPS Bike CANtina serves 20 craft beers on tap and 43 premium tequilas, alongside south-of-the-border soul food. The taco-centric menu features creative combinations and handmade tortillas. But what makes CyclHOPS truly one-of-its-kind is the onsite bike shop. Oskar Blues owner Dale Katechis originally conceived of REEB Cycles in 2011 after his bike was stolen and he wanted his next ride to be American-made. In addition to providing full-service bike repair, REEB Cycles also demos and sells locally made bikes. Each bike is outfitted with 100-percent American-made materials, including Denver-based Gates Carbon Drive, and the frames are custom-crafted by welder Chris Sulfrian. “REEB Cycles is basically a middle finger to bikes made overseas,” says Katechis.
