Back in 1975, Jim Blackburn looked at the growing cycling community and was determined to make a difference. Ever since, his bike-centric business, Blackburn Design, has been an industry leader in cycling innovation. Recently, the popularity of bike camping is on the rise, inspiring Blackburn to release “Comes with Baggage,” a film focusing on the history of bicycle travel. A second Blackburn film, “Roll With It,” has been released, giving adventurers and cyclists a look into the expanding world of bike camping.
Roll With It: A Bike Camping Journey
A photographer, musician, artist, food blogger, and an ecologist are the unlikely stars of this new film by Blackburn, presented by Niner Bikes and New Belgium Brewing. The strangers come together to demonstrate individual biking rituals and behaviors, and celebrate how fun bike camping can be.
“Camping by bike is an adventure everyone can experience without over complicating it.” says, Robin Sansom, Blackburn’s brand manager. “This film, at the core, is about the unexpected rituals strangers have when they embark on a bike and camp adventure together. We look forward to bringing this to communities all over the world in hopes of inspiring more people to get outside.”
The film will also be available for purchase, which will include a beautiful book that explains, in more granular detail, how anyone can use their bike as a portal to a world of adventure. The book and film will be available this July from Blackburn.
