Sadness at the Giro and Beyond Geekery: an Amazing Tour…uh…Thingy

First off, it’s a terribly sad thing to hear of a young guy hurt or killed, but today the heart of the Giro d’Italia breaks at the death of 27-year-old Wouter Weylandt. He fell while negotiating a technical descent and died on the scene. Warmest wishes to him, his family, his teammates, and all the riders at the Giro. It must be a sad thing to continue…

I had originally thought to post on a fun, informative, over-the-top and geeky Tour de France site…but it seems utterly trivial at this point. Say a quick prayer for Weylandt and then click through, if you’re into it. Whoever dreamed this thing up is way smart…and way into cycling.

Wear your helmets and ride safely, friends…for the vast majority of us, there’s just no reason to risk it all on the road. For the cyclists who choose to, you’re an awfully brave lot. Best.
