Lynn Hill, David Lama, Tommy Caldwell, Doug Robinson … and you? Well, if you haven’t made plans to attend the “main event” at this year’s Access Fund annual celebratory event, you should start scheming how to get to Denver, May 16.

Patagonia and the Access Fund will host the annual fundraiser dinner at the Westin Hotel in Westminster (10600 Westminster Blvd.), between Denver and Boulder, Saturday, May 16 at 6 p.m. Valley legend, Doug Robinson, will deliver the keynote address, but there’s also a screening of Moving Over Stone with Doug Robinson Friday evening in Boulder.

Saturday the Access Fund will hold a “Tools and Strategies” summit, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., also at the Westin. If you value advocacy, sustainability, and conservation along with your climbing, then plan on attending an open board meeting Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., also at the Westin. The Access Fund board will be discussing important issues related to climbers’ access, land use, and sundry other topics relevant to our climbing scene.

This is a great opportunity to attend the sort of event usually reserved for industry insiders and professional athletes. To reserve your spot and get in on the action, visit www.accessfund.org/SolidProtection.

And if you haven’t joined the Access Fund—then do so now!

Oh, and if you’re just looking for a good excuse to hang with me … I hate to break it to you, but I’ll miss the event. Damn! Old buddy’s wedding … can’t miss it. I expect you to fly the torch without me—it’s going to be fun!
