The Jackson Ski Patrol will be using Backcountry Access Tracker2s exclusively this season. The gang there purchased over 180 T2s to replace their current fleet of two-antennae Trackers. Not only will ski patrol use them, but the on-mountain guides will, as well as their clients.
After extensive testing of all three-antennae beacons on the market, Jackson decided the Tracker2 fulfilled their mission most completely–ease of use, reliability, and speed among the top criteria.
If you haven’t checked out the Tracker2, I recommend giving it a look. If you can play with it for a couple hours, so much the better. You just can’t bog the thing down, or get it to fritz–something you cannot say about the “fancier” models out there.
Snow forecast overnight, so we’ll be somewhere towards the Divide tomorrow–hope to see you out there!
