It’s 30 years since the first lugged, steel Ibis frame alighted from the capable hands of Scot Nicol. Since then his steel, aluminum, ti, and finally carbon machines have acted as two-wheeled MDMA from the lupine-lined singletrack of Sonoma County to the edelweiss-adorned trails of the Dolomites. There are Ibis riders in Indonesia, Japan, Italy, New Zealand, and nearly every state in the Union. The inventor of the iPod rides one; Jack Black rides one; Chuck Ibis rides one; world champion Brian Lopes…and a bunch of you, too.
Ibis turns 30 this year, having taken the leap to carbon…and killed it in that category, too. Best wishes to the gang and thanks for three decades of bliss!
