Late-Spring Ski Porn from the Chamonix Insider

I almost feel bad posting so much material from ChamonixInsider.com…but given how badass most of Trey’s content is, the feeling generally passes as soon as I hit “play.”

Cham had a terrible mid-late winter, but they have gotten a couple dribbles lately, including a good dump a couple weeks back. The local hooligans all charged their chosen lines, with 17 riders hitting the Mallory Route beneath the Aiguille du Midi tram. If you’ve ridden the telepherique, then you’ll recognize some of the terrain: the Mallory finishes beneath the final several hundred meters of the tram ride. Steep, spooky, full-on. Like so many lines in the valley, it’s a graded alpine climb (TD+, 5.3, 50-55˚ pass. 58˚, 500m) and sees some traffic as a ski/’board descent when conditions are go. Woh. Click through and enjoy the ride. Thanks, Trey.

No shortage of mega-burl skiers in Cham. Too bad I’m not one of them.
