Yeah, what they say is true…these little dudes take up some time! You’ll recall Rebel and I had twins July 8–Luca and Dominic–so you’ll forgive me for not posting much in the past month.
But there’s hope! I’ve got a pair of Scarpa Geko Guides ($169; 26 oz. for the pair) to test…which I’ll do either in Vegas on some cruiser moderates, or on the Grand, just after Labor Day. Maybe I’ll do a head-to-head all-out duel between these and the LaSportiva Gandas. Stay tuned. (Apologies on the pic, too: I’ve got a baby slung around my neck…gimme a break, eh?!)
I’ll also attend the annual Interbike trade show, in Las Vegas, September 22-23. My posts will be long on fluff, gossip, wining and dining…and short on bike-geekery…but check back anyway.
And lastly…this whole Floyd-Lance thing has really taken off. I assured a close friend of mine the affair would blow over quietly…but I was/am (happily!) wrong. Grab the rollcage, friends, this thing is going to get ugly…and at long last, we’ll see what the true story really is. It’s been a long time coming and I’d bet the farm we’ll have a much different view of America’s favorite sportsman, come 2012.
And for the record: the willfully ignorant crowd will paint Novitzky as a fame-hungry, celebrity-killer…but forget that BS and pay attention to what people say under oath, the facts of the case…and the obvious dots that most just won’t connect. Uh oh!
