But, the most amazing part was that I felt like a rock star from start to finish. I am not the best rider around (I’m awful, actually), yet I rode faster and it felt easier. Was it a fluke? Or, is the last line in the Skirt Sports mission statement spot on: “When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you perform better.”
Looks like – in the name of performance – I’ll have to toss the workout clothes I’ve been wearing since high school and keep testing this theory out. By the way, I still ended up with grease on my legs and tornado hair. Guess a change in wardrobe can only do so much.
Shenanigans at last weekend’s Skirt Chaser – A 5 K race put on by Skirt Sports that is more of a social event than a competition. Women get a three minute head start and the men are invited to “Catch Us If You Can.” Afterward, there’s a block party complete with beer, band, food and mingling. This is about making fitness fun and inspiring women and men to get out there and strut their stuff.
