Clothing Arts has developed a series of pants and shorts for travelers looking to spend time in the packed markets, airports, train stations and various other crowded environs around the world. While I can verify that I was not pick-pocketed while wearing these on my last jaunt to Peru, I cannot say if any attempts were made and thereby thwarted by the built in security systems.
With extra buttons and flaps, hidden zippers and pockets, and rugged fabrics designed to fend off the scrapes and stains often found while traveling, I did find I had a greater sense of security for the valuables in my pockets.
Naturally, as you add these extra flaps, buttons and zippers the pants or shorts will get bulkier and with that potentially uncomfortable. This is not entirely the case with these pants and shorts. True, they do bulk up a bit, but not obnoxiously so and I didn’t find them to be uncomfortable unless I had every pocket packed so full I could hardly sit down. That’s an unlikely scenario, but it’s good to know you have some serious capacity to work with if you’re in a pinch.
While, I don’t find that I’m choosing these shorts to wear while I’m home and just hanging around town the next time I’m heading into the thick of humanity these will be with me.
