Pronounced “A Gloves”, these have been the most comfortable and versatile touchscreen savvy gloves for around town or on the trail I have used. Agloves makes a few different styles from thin liner gloves to thicker wooly style gloves that are great for any activities that don’t really involve touching much snow. Sure, you can toss a snowball or two without wetting them out, but these are not what you want for continuously messing with snow.
Part of the beauty of these gloves is all the fingers (and really any part of the glove) works with your touchscreen. This is important for those of you with iPads where multi-touch gestures (3-4 finger swipes) are used. Many competitive gloves only work with the thumb and index finger for pinching. Because silver (atomic symbol Ag, hence the company name) is woven throughout the glove, the electrostatic contact, which is what touch screens respond to, is universally available.
I have the pair with the grip-dots in the palm and up most of the fingers. The finger tips are left clear for smooth sliding on your touchscreen. These have worked great in holding the phone itself, cups of hot drinks while camping, gripping bicycle handle bars, holding the steering wheel, and basically anything you’d expect to be able to do while wearing gloves.
Naturally, beyond getting a pair of gloves just to work with your lifestyle, they work great with the touchscreen. Again, without having any visually and tactually unsavory pads or beads in the key spots, these gloves are very comfortable and look like a pair of gloves should without drawing attention to your thumb or fingertips.
Four styles and two colors run the very reasonable range of $20-$30 and would make your cold-handed touchscreen using friend, spouse, or whomever, ever so grateful.
