Just in time “Valley Uprising” is released on video

If only Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgenson had taken one day longer to finish their historic Dawn Wall climb they would of finished the same day one of the best films made about climbing in Yosemite was released to the public. Well, I guess after nineteen days on the wall they were ready to finish, or maybe they wanted to get home to watch the film. Either which way congrats to them on an incredible achievement.

The good news is you can get your hands on Sender Films seminal and somewhat controversial film “Valley Uprising” detailing the emergence of the big wall climbers that now are featured on the nightly news. The film was a grand prize winner at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and has received numerous accolades. We reviewed at it’s September opening night, read more here.

The video comes packed with numerous extras that add an extra 53 minutes of pure climbing bliss. Some of the highlights include:

• Alex Honnold free soloing in Yosemite

• Dean Potter free soloing in Yosemite

• Jack Kerouac’s influence on climbing

• Deleted Scene — The Golden Age of Big Wall exploration

• Deleted Scene — Tommy Caldwell and the Dawn Wall

The video is available January 15th in DVD, BluRay, or digital download. Click here for more info.

In case you forgot how great it was or have not seen it here is the trailer.
