Left for Dead: My Buddy Goes Huge on the Captain

Nearly a decade ago Patrick Pharo and I were regularly scaring ourselves on Eldo 5.9s and generally loving the climbing thing. These days, though, I’m nursing torn tendons in my elbow, have twin boys about to be born, and I don’t really climb all that much harder than the days of the above-mentioned Eldo terror sessions.

But not Pat. This skinny bastard has redpointed 5.13 on bolts, climbed 5.12 trad, and just returned from a huge send-fest across the West. In a three-week binge he ticked the Rainbow Wall (5.12 V) in Vegas and the Salathe (VI, 5.9-5.13 depending on how much you free, and C2 R), among many other lesser-known routes. Damn, way to make the old guys feel bad, PattyP!

Anyway, Pat has gained a little traction with his blog, so I thought I’d link to it here.

Pretty fun read and big props to my boy!

Now, can we still climb a few 5.9s, too? Hello? Pat? Remember the little people, boss!
