It’s that time of year.
The seemingly endless Indian summer has finally given way to snow on the high peaks, frost on the windshield, and heated seats dominate the commute. The smell of winter abounds; rotting trails, smoky chimneys, warm breath in the chilly air. Trails are muddy, snow guns are blazing, and camping is relegated to three hour drives to the desert. In years past, it has been a bittersweet time for us here at Big Agnes.
The hustle and bustle of our busy summer camping season winds down as we shift to focus on winter camping and the coming spring season. But this year, this fall, things are much different.
With the introduction of insulated winter apparel, we are in the midst of a shift in focus and strategy. A brand built on creating and testing camping gear now has an apparel line to design, test, and market.
After years of crafting sleeping bags with award winning design and spending many chilly nights huddled around the campfire, it came to us: we should have a line of jackets to keep us warm while we’re playing in colder temps outside our tents. After all, we live and work in the Colorado mountains and it’s cold! Insulated apparel can be worn 365 days a year up here with varying needs for more and less insulation.
Our line is thoughtfully designed to be warm, comfortable, form flattering and versatile. We designed our apparel to be transitional from the ski hill to the bar for celebratory beers after a killer day on the hill. Stylish enough to go from bike commuting to the office on a snowy morning to meeting your spouse for an early dinner downtown on the way home. Fashion, form, function meets tech, design, engineering, and mountain town style. So whether you’re building campfires and sleeping in the dirt or making memories with your kids on their first backcountry overnight, we want you to stay warm and look good. Big Agnes has your back.
