EAT, SLEEP, PLAY: St George, Utah

Has there ever been a time when you have been craving the outdoors more than now? We doubt it. After being locked up due to Covid-19, everyone is ready to leave their homes and soak up some sun. Head to St George, Utah. It has all the space you could want, adventures galore, and best of all, you can avoid the crowds at nearby Zion National Park.

EAT:

Set high on a bluff overlooking the city, the Cliffside Restaurant offers stunning panoramic views of the entire area that pair perfectly with fresh-cut steaks and tasty seafood. The salads, wraps, and bowls at Viva Chicken, a Peruvian chicken shop, are the ideal grab and go adventure food. The state of Utah is loaded with transplants from the Aloha State. One of the best places to taste their food is at Hawaiian Poke Bowl. It’s delicious and perfect on hot summer days. The new Wood Ash Rye, located in the heart of downtown, offers an exceptional dining experience not found in St George until recently. An expansive bar program pairs perfectly with Chef Shon Foster’s dishes.

SLEEP:

Located just outside of the city, amid towering red rock cliffs and expansive desert landscapes, The Crescent Moon Inn is the perfect base camp for exploration. Hiking and biking trails are nearby, while a short walk will deposit you in the Kayenta’s Coyote Art Village. Their eight rooms range in price from $100 to $175.

The Advenire, which recently opened downtown, has raised the game in St George. As part of Marriot Hotels Autograph Collection, this boutique hotel offers luxurious accommodations in modern spacious rooms. Plus, it has a bar downstairs, something you don’t often find in this part of the world. Rooms run from $99 to $299.

If looking with a view head to the Inn on the Cliff, the location of the aforementioned Cliffside Restaurant. The classy and comfortable rooms are perfect for unwinding, and the pool is ideal after a long day of play. Rooms run from $109 to $209. 

PLAY

The high desert location of St George makes it a perfect spot to visit year-round, but it shines during the summer months. The Hurricane Rim trail system offers hours of mountain biking that will take you high above the desert floor. It just one of a myriad of trails to hit with your knobby tires.
