The Wright Awards, celebrating its five-year anniversary in 2015, are back again to celebrate Colorado businesses exhibiting leadership at the intersection of lifestyle and commerce. The nominees range from outdoor-related businesses like the Colorado Yurt Company out of Montrose and Tenkara USA from Boulder to some of the top leaders in the state’s adult beverage industry—such as The Infinite Monkey Theorem and Buena Vista-based Deerhammer Distilling Company. The eleven contenders for this year’s Wright Awards were chosen from over 125 nominees, and have now been challenged with the task of creating a ninety second video that conveys their vision and inspiration while highlighting the role that Colorado plays in their company.
“These companies are Colorado,” said Luis Benitez, Director of Colorado’s newly established Outdoor Recreation Industry Office. “They play an important role in shaping our communities and the state’s economy.”
A panel of judges made up of past Wright award winners, industry media, and economic development leaders will determine the winner of the 2015 Wright Award after evaluating all eleven video entries. This year’s winner will receive a cash prize of $5,000. The winner will be announced at this year’s awards ceremony which is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, October 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Space Gallery in Denver. Awards night will also feature a Colorado Craft Canned Beer Garden featuring Oskar Blues Brewery, 4 Noses Brewing, Fate Brewing, Lone Tree Brewing, and Denver Beer Co. who will all be providing craft beer for attendees. Tickets to The Wright Awards ceremony are $40 per person.
