About [wpbb post:title]:

Boulder residents own more land than all of Colorado’s ski areas combined. What? Yes! It’s true! Boulder is surrounded by wide open spaces that residents own – 45,000 acres. All of Colorado’s ski areas = 40,000. That’s a lot of land that is instantly accessible for outdoor recreation. Bicycling is so highly regarded in Boulder that sometimes the city plows the Boulder Creek bike path before they plow the streets. This is true – I’ve seen it with my own two eyes. Boulder’s Third Flatiron towers 1400 feet high, a few hundred feet higher than the Empire State Building, and has been climbed by people without using their hands, on roller skates, naked, and in eight minutes (by separate climbers). Known for its active lifestyle, Boulder’s food scene gives athletes and outdoor fanatics what they need to be out in it with organic grocery stores, restaurants, and even breweries. Valmont Bike Park is a 40-acre off-road bike park with competition-grade cyclo-cross racing trails, big dirt jumps, dual slalom tracks, pump tracks, and slope-style trails. That’s a size equivalent to 30 football fields of off-road cycling for all levels of riders. Family friendly features include a trike track, a learning loop, a kids’ play area and restrooms. Plus, it’s accessible from a number of the city’s bike trails.
